Where has the time gone this year?
Our Farmers' Market was open on Saturday all Winter (shortened hours) and we never made it down to take a look.
In April the market is open Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
We finally were able to take a look yesterday.
Even though the skies were gray and the temperatures cold, the market was bustling.
Lots of times to temp the gardener.
Each year one of the vendors (Buggy Crazy) has these flats of Shooting Stars or Roosters' Bills for sale. They are such an interestingly shaped wildflower.
Tomatoes for sale with the caveat that they must be kept in a greenhouse until the weather and soil are both warmer.
Radishes
Pasties and sausage rolls. When we were in Glasgow a few years ago, my sister had a sausage roll from Gregg's for breakfast every morning before we started our day. She and my mother totally messed up the many commuters' time table as they leisurely browsed the displays of baked goods before deciding what to order. The commuters all knew exactly what they wanted to grab on their rushing way to catch a train.
Goat cheese - yum!
Many of the vendors had lots of fresh produce - including new potatoes. Amazing this early in the season.
The market experience is not complete without entertainment.
Forget-me-nots
Asparagus
Carrots and Cabbages
That sounds like a great title for a vegetarian cookbook.
My favorite entertainer. This young boy was playing bluegrass / folk music from memory.
It was great to experience the bustle and vitality of the Farmers' Market once again.

What a nice day at the market! Ours has also started. Sat. AM was so nasty up here, I didn't go. I will go next week for sure! My DD and I usually go together and then have coffee at our favorite coffee spot.
I am so glad that you made it to the Market...
I have a new Blog and here is the link:

Happy Stitching
It looks like a wonderful place to explore - great pictures.
How lucky to have a Farmer's Market that is open all year. We don't have any around here until July and then only until September.
Seeing the young boy playing violin makes me miss my youngest daughter. She's away at college and I never get to hear her practice violin anymore.
I will take one each of the pasties (how would you ever decide??) and goat cheese samples, please. =)
