Wednesday's Walk

It's a lovely day - though too hot for my tastes.
Let's head out early.

This time of year I love to look at all the wacky configurations that the leaders of the young Douglas fir trees make before straighten up and harden off.

A trio

A group effort.

Bracken fern

Large False Solomons Seal (Maianthemum racemosum)

Bright red berries

Columbia Lily - this was growing along the roadside on the southern Oregon coast.

Cat's Tails

More Columbia Lily

Douglas Spiraea (Spiraea douglasii)

Bitter Cherry

Cow's Parsnip

Blackberries

Nootka Rose

Cascara

Ocean Spray (Holodiscus discolor)

A lovely closeup - again this was everywhere on the southern Oregon Coast.
Stay cool!

What beautiful images of nature from your walks, Beth! Way too hot and humid here!
