July's Trail Camera Photos - Dorothy's Creek Part Two

As promised here is Part Two!

Very active month for bobcats.

And a successful month for hunting.

Hopping along

A sizeable meal

Can you see it?

Baby Bobcat!!!
Cuteness overload!

And lots of bear activity last month as well.

I think it is mostly the same bear over and over again.

No sign of the sow and cub at this location.

I thought long and hard about whether or not to post the next few photos.
All wildlife is wild and inherently dangerous, but also part of our natural landscape. It is up to us to be vigilant and do our best to coexist without bloodshed.

So here goes..

Three sets of glowing eyes...

It's probably a female cougar and her two almost full-grown cubs.
The middle cat looks extremely skinny to me - almost malnourished.
But maybe it is just still a rather gangly young cat. Anyway, all three were thirsty.

They are probably ready to split up - each cougar need around 100 square miles of territory in order to have access to enough prey to be healthy.

Later in the month - a single cat.  Perhaps the group above had split up.

Based on past observation, we should now go 6-8 months without any additional sightings as the cat moves about its expansive territory.

Definitely lots of activity! Interesting cougar and bobcat sightings! The baby bobcat is adorable. Yay for the bear!
