Gosh - ten years have passed since I stitched this partridge!

Let's look at some more recent birds.

The Red-Breasted Sapsucker is making a large set of new sap wells on a big second-growth Douglas fir tree.  This project has lasted for more than a week.  The bird spends anywhere from 20 minutes to several hours working each day.

This Anna's female is still the Guardian of the Backyard Feeders!

She takes her duties seriously.

No big surprise to have a little female Downy Woodpecker at a suet feeder.

Here she is again.

More surprising to have the male Downy eating on a sunflower chip feeder.

He had quite a prolonged meal.

And after several days of no-shows, I had two Red-breasted Nuthatches eating peanuts.  A good day for birds.

I would agree, a good day for the birds! I also love the stitched bird.
