An oldie, but a goodie - a nice little seasonal stitch.

Chickadees, Titmice, and Tits constitute the bird family called Paridae.
It is a wide-spread family with birds in North America, Africa, and Europe.

In western Oregon we are fortunate to have Bushtits which exhibit many of the Paridae characteristics being active, noisy, and social.

Monday morning a group of around a dozen birds briefly took over one of my suet feeders.

They alight every which-way on the feeder.

Eight of them.

Again eight.

Two dark-eyed males.

A light eyed female.

Constantly in motion.

A last bite before moving on.

Wikipedia notes: "... tits are highly adaptable, and after the corvids (crows and jays) and parrots, amongst the most intelligent of all birds."

When I was in England the summer f 2013, I got to see three additional species of tits.

Great Tit

Blue Tit

Coal Tit

Sandra, a Follower of my blog from the UK, was kind enough to share with us a couple of great photos of Long-tailed Tits in her backyard.

Aren't they wonderful?  Thank you so munch Sandra.

Your photo's of all your visitors are so lovely to see. We did have sparrows a plenty as well as blue tits and great tits. The sparrow hawk occasionally pays a visit but that's usually because he treats the hedge where all the sparrows live as the local take away. We did have long tail tits visit us last summer along with a great spotted woodpecker but not seen them this year sadly.
