Serene Sunday

The Umpqua Community College shooting rampage Thursday literally hit close to home - just 40 miles to the south of Eugene, Oregon. After the horror of yet another school shooting, I think we all need a Serene Sunday.

The Anna's have been quieter.

I did see three birds, but only once.

More often there is just a single bird at the feeder.

The Mudroom Flowerbed is still a prized piece of territory and worth fighting over even in early October.

This young male has a few pink feathers to match the Salvia.

Share I say, but they don't listen.

Yes, I do wonder what is WRONG with these people. It is so sad and so very, very wrong.
Thank you for a serene post indeed.

Good thought, Beth...a serene post is needed. I have only one female hummer left but she claims the feeder and sits on it for hours. Did not see the one again that had the growth on his beak. Seeing your chipmunks from the previous post makes me think of the one that you had posted a while back....the poor little one that had the weird thingy (growth?) on his side. Have you seen him again?

Serenity is still needed and still much appreciated. It was way close to home.
