St. Patrick's Party

On Tuesday we were invited to a St. Patrick's Day Celebration.

Our neighbors have an Irish surname and go all out on decorating for the dinner they host.

The assorted appetizers.

Festive decorations.

A sweet little touch!

The lights over the table were festooned with shamrocks.

The festive tablescape.

A complementary mix of green and white patterns.

Yellow primroses to remind one of a pot of gold.

The meal which included a potato bar, soup, salads, and soda bread was served buffet-style in this adorable cottage kitchen.

The drinks station.

After dinner we played an Ireland Knowledge Game, with the two top finishers each receiving a pot of gold as displayed on the table!

We enjoyed a wonderful assortment of dessert during our Game Time.

And all during the evening, I had the feeling that Little People were lurking nearby watching...
What a fun evening with friends who are also neighbors.

What fun! I loved the pictures of the male Rufous Hummingbird - what a handsome fellow! We do not have them here.
I still have not seen a robin (or heard one) but the chippies are back! :)

What a fun party! They really went "all out" for a nice evening! I'm like Vickie--we had such wonderful neighbors growing up--were with them all the time. Since I've been married, we don't even know the names of some of our neighbors! That's sad! Everyone is busy or works, and we just don't visit......

Oh my goodness, that looks fun! I love St. Patrick's Day. It's a nice splash of color in a month that is otherwise gray and snowy here.
