Not a big or complex design, but for one reason or another, it took me a while to find the time and have the oomph to stitch.
This past week seems to have been Big Bird Week.
I'm not good with hawk identification, but this is a large hawk.
Another of my Big Birds - the Band-tailed Pigeons.
They've gone from lurking in the trees...
...to lighting atop the birdfeeders...
...before 'banding together' to feed on the ground.
The Turkey Vultures have been around for a month now.
They do not like cold mornings and roost in the Acorn Woodpeckers' tree until the air and their body temperature warms up.
I guess Mourning Doves aren't Big Birds really, unless you compare them to the Chickadees and Juncos. So I am including them! Do you think this is a courting pair? It is possible.
And congratulations to everyone who figured out that it was the woodpecker on the Cricket Collection chart that caught my eye! Is there a better drummer than a woodpecker?

Lovely finish Beth. That hawk is striking. So handsome.
Great finish! I hope those big birds aren't chasing away the little ones.....
Love your finish and I love all your bird photos (well, I actually I love all your "critter" pictures - thanks for sharing those with us, too.). That turkey vulture is quite amazing, isn't it?
I had to look at a bigger picture of "On the Seventh Day of Christmas" but as soon as I saw the woodpecker I thought, "ah, this has to be the reason." Looking forward to seeing it stitched up by you. Enjoy!
What a sweet stitch Beth.
I think the mourning doves are definitely a courting couple. When the collared doves visit us they always come as a pair.
You really have some very big birds!! I think it was probably the heart that took some time. Designs like that can be deceptive. I am working on a small one that has a house and it seems to be taking forever.
What a cute finish--and a cute pair of mourning doves! They are one of my favorite birds :)
I love doves. (Which are basically pigeons, I know.) I love the little noises they make to one another.
