Next Up

I read all the comments and thought it over; and I decided that I'm an inherently sequential person.  So based on that, yesterday I kitted up "May's Lily" as my next Series Stitch.

Sunday was a rather gloomy day and it even rained a bit.
You can see it was cold - look at all the puffy feathers.
As this guy hung out most of the day, I didn't have much action at the bird feeders.

Still no sign on my female Downy Woodpecker.

The male is at the feeders several times a day.

I did see a Junco or two.
This is a female - the males have a much darker (almost black) head.

Isn't she a sweet little thing?

This gray squirrel was hard at work hawk or no hawk.  I love the tail.  It's draped over the side like a boa or a velvet cloak.

Now that you mention it, I'm a sequential stitcher as well, though I never realized it til just now, lol.

Love the birds and squirrel!

What a pretty little bird the female junco is. Her feathers look so soft and she is such a delicate mix of colours. I think you are taking great photos with your new camera.

Enjoy the new stitch - and the birds and squirrels :-)

The little female junco has such pretty subtle coloring. I would probably also go in sequence.

I'm glad you're starting the May one in the series. I'm anxious to see them all! :D The Junco is so sweet looking -- love the coloring. Hope the female woodpecker is ok.

The Cottage Garden series is so amazing with each month being such a delight. I don't think I have ever seen a female junco. She is so adorable. We still have our two pairs of woodpeckers and several juncos have arrived. Yesterday we saw a robin and were surprised he (she) was still here. Have a great week Beth.

Reading the previous comments made me think--I have not seen many birds at all, except for the blackbirds around work. I really haven't had a minute to stop and look and listen tho... tomorrow I will do just that! Love the closeup of the junco!
