Flock of Flickers

Design - "Frosty Valentine" (Black Sheep kit)
Designer - Ewe & Eye & Friends
Fabric - 32 count Cameo Rose linen
Fibers - Anchor - 1 strand over 2 threads
Started - 1 February 2008
Completed - 25 February 2008

I think this older finish is the perfect one to share as we transition from February to March as it continues to be cold and threaten to snow.  A snowman with a heart on his hat and a banner "for you".

I continue to see as many as seven Flickers in the morning.
Here's one of the guys...

And a gal...

And another guy.

A group of three - two guys and a gal.

A great woodpecker day as I once again got to see a Red-breasted Sapsucker.

I can't get over that bright red head.

I got a couple of nice profile photos.

You can even see the bit of red on the breast that gives the bird its name.

Lovely linen color and beautiful stitching.
February was a crazy weather month. We had everything, from very cold to 70's, snowflakes, rain, thunder and wind, so much wind. Still not a lot of snow but there is still March to come. Cut my clematis back yesterday. The old growth from last year had already fresh two-inch-long new growth.
