Youngsters

Working a bit on this cross stitch.
Just one more violet leaf and I'm done!

There are several Hairy Woodpecker youngsters.

If you look closely there are three birds.
One on the left side of the left post, one atop the third post, and the last bird eating suet on the right.

Here's one of the young birds with a bit of red atop its head.

This is another young birds - LOTS of red on its head!

Youngster on the left, Dad on the right.

Time to eat!

Each summer the adult woodpeckers appear to take the young ones on a Suet Tour - to show them easy access to a hardy meal.

Your stitch is looking good, Beth. I bet it is so much fun to watch the younger birds.

Sweet story with your photos today. I hope you are staying cool during this terrible heat wave in the PNW. Likewise, I hope all your wildlife stays cool and has good access to cool water.
