Friday was an awesome Acorn Woodpecker day.
It begin with watching a rather comical female...
All her head-bobbing...
...and contortions.
She was then joined by a male (on the right).
Two birds!
A bit later I realized there were Acorn Woodpeckers on the feeders at the front of the house.
TWO GUYS!
And the female.
That makes for a group of THREE BIRDS!
Can't tell you how excited and pleased I am.
Last year the group I'd had for over seven years disbanded by the end of September and I went for several months without any Acorn Woodpeckers.
This year signs point to them staying throughout the winter.
