Had a Red-shoulder Hawk close in.
It was extremely talkative which allowed me to easily locate it.
Also had a family of Purple Martins.
TThe adult male had been preening and has a small feather in his beak.
Here he is.
And again.
Here are some of the females / younger birds.
They also chatter non-stop.
They hang around for a few weeks in late July / early August before off they go on their migration.

Beautiful bee stitch! The hawk is impressive.
Hey,
I’m impressed by your blog. Absolutely amazing work.
Definitely cool birds! We had a large bird(wing span probably 2 feet) fly by the car today. It was too fast for me to get a better description. Do you think it might have been a raven? Do they get that big? From what I could see it was black but again it was so fast and the car was moving. It did not have the coloring of an Eagle.
