This owl cut in line in front of some other owls I'm stitching.  'Whoo' knew owls were pushy like that?

As our wonderful autumn weather continues, let's take a walk!

You never know what you might find in the forest!
A gargoyle with a frog friend!

He lives close by to this wonderful old decaying stump.

This is the moss that covers the stump.

Leaving the forest for the open fields, the rose hips glow in the sun.

The wilding apple trees are heavy with fruit.

This tree is red and bronze and copper.

More apples.

Rose hips and apples.

The bright blue flowers of Chickory.

Snowberries.

And this is why I'm still seeing Cedar Waxwings.
The Hawthorns are covered in red berries.

The Cedar Waxwings will not eat them until they are totally ripe.

The red clusters against the green leaves are quite pretty.

As are the green leaves and red stems of the Osier Dogwood.

The Hazelbrush is turning yellow.

This might be a treat for the Cedar Waxwings too.
The wild honeysuckle is covered in bright orange berries.

Beautiful pictures, Beth! The snow berries remind me of my childhood growing up overseas. We used to pick them walking to school and when you stepped on them they made a 'pop'.

What a delightful owl! I think this year I will just have to enjoy walking with you in the woods. Not sure I will be able to do much on my own.

The wise old owl is quite pretty! And the gargoyle with a frog is very unique. All the lovely berries and flowers are a nice sight at this time of year.
