Design - "Hearts"
Designer - Heart in Hand
Fabric - 32 count Summer Khaki linen
Fibers - GAST & WDW - 2 strands over 2 threads
Started - 20 February 2013
Completed - 20 February 2013
This design uses the same color pallet - pink and chocolate that many of you admired in "Kindness Begets Kindness". Wednesday turned into a cold and rainy day - perfect for stitching. I completed "Hearts" before dinner!
Tuesday, the day after the bird count had ended...
I had over thirty, yes thirty Evening Grosbeaks hanging around.
I counted about twenty-four of them in this photograph.
I've never had that many at the feeders at the same time.
The ratio of gals to guys is all out of whack, though you'd not know it looking at these two couples.
This group of six guys and one gal (back right) is more representative.
My California Quail covey is now at eleven.
I think just a couple of weeks ago I counted thirteen.
While I might like to think that a pair has moved on, it is far more likely they were a meal for one of the many predators that also inhabit our acreage.
So now I have five guys and six gals. In the next couple of months they will pair up and begin nesting.

Sweet heart and cute birds x
Enjoyed the photos ;)
Someone must have told the Evening Grosbeaks that you have the best feeders around! I love the pic of the two couples on the feeder. I also love the Hearts design you stitched too.
Love that little heart cross stitch! Your birds are so amazing!!
Lovely stitching and cute birds :)
Very pretty finish! And great shots again :-)
Yup--pink and brown are lovely together! Great quick stitch! The grosbeaks have been talking! You have a whole flock of them now! Hugs!
