A Bit of a Blob

 

I know it does not look like much, but it is the start of an egret.  

I was pleased to have a small group of Cedar Waxwings come by briefly.

One bird stayed a bit longer than the rest.

He even was kind enough to call the high-pitched sound they make.

Then pose.

And call again.

I got to see several when I was in England in 2013.

We entertained us for well over 30 minutes the other evening.

A New Start

 

Another bird is calling to me.

This time it's an egret.

There are lots of young birds this time of year.

Young California Quail

In the center a young Black-headed Grosbeak

Maybe not young, but scruffy molting Steller's Jays.

A young American Goldfinch and its Dad.

A parent's work is never done.
