This small Sharp-shinned Hawk has become an almost daily visitor.

He stays for hours at a time and battles the Steller's Jays which are about the same size.

I also had a couple of California Scrub Jays.

Noisy and demanding, but also handsome.

I could say the same about the Steller's Jays too.

Lovely stitch! What a handsome hawk you have hanging around! I can't get over the hawk battling with the Steller's Jays. Fascinating!

That is a lovely stitch! So many colors!

We get quite a few scrub jays...they seem to be clever birds. If there's a hawk hanging around it's usually a Coopers Hawk. Never seen him(her?) go toe-to-toe with any other bird. What I do see are crows (sometimes two) chasing off a red tailed hawk. The crows seem to win too....🦅

That hawk is quite a bird! Glad the little guys recognize it and stay away!
