I did not like the material used for the earmuffs, so I used to snowflake buttons instead. I'm not thrilled with how it looks as I want something more colorful. I need to look at JABC buttons for other options.
When people decide to put out feeders and food for birds, they get impatient when they do not get instant results.
I put up this suet feeder in the backyard at the beginning of January.
The Juncos have been pecking at it on and off, but it is only in the last couple of days that they Bushtits have found the feeder.
On Monday the little flock of twelve birds came by around 9:00am and again at 5:00pm.
They perch every which way!
Including upside down!
Now I'm hopeful that they will become regulars at this feeder.
I also put out a new suet feeder in the front of the house and the Bushtits have found that as well.
This is a log type feeder that has inserts for suet plugs.
I got it in hopes of attracting a Pileated Woodpecker.
But I'll take the sweet Bushtits as well.
Too cute!

What a cute stitch. It takes my birds a day or two to find a new feeder or to come back to older ones after I have not filled them up for awhile. I have my eyes on several new feeders for this year and I am even considering getting a woodpecker house!! I have wanted one for so long.
I think the buttons you used on your new finish look really cute, Beth! And I love your February header. I just realized my January one is still up--better get busy :)
I actually like the buttons you chose. Cute.
I like the snowflake buttons but am mini-pom-pom crazy lately.
Glad the birdies have their good suet to keep them warm!
They are sweet little birds!
I love the snowman finish too!
Very sweet little birds. I'm hoping that your snowman will be the only one I see for the foreseeable future.
What cute birds -that last photo is so sweet! I like your earmuffs, they look cosy.
Stitch is so pretty
Very cute
Those little guys are so cute! It does take time for the birds to find things.
Love seeing all your wildlife photos. I would love to put up some bird feeders in out backyard but we have too any cats around where we live. Love your snowman finish, hope you find some buttons you're happy with.
I need to look into how to make suet. It would be a great addition to our bird watching. The birds in your area certainly enjoy feasting at your place! I'd love for you to share this outdoor post on this week's Maple Hill Hop!
I like the snowman and the earmuffs, but... I also know JABCO has lots of even cuter buttons... Where do you get the suet for the log? My husband has finally drilled the log I found, but I stopped him from doing more until I get the plugs!
