It's late and it has been a long and busy and fun day.
I'm going to quickly write about the cats and critters back home and post a few pictures of today's adventure. I'm not going to say where we went, but perhaps you can figure it out - guesses welcome.
The cats have been pestering me long distance. They feel that they've not received the 'face time' due to them. So here are sojme recent photos thanks to my sister.
Padma (bottom right) has taken to rolling about in/on my podophyllums as though they were catnip.
Solomon is once again wearing a cone of shame. He had a recurrence of a medical issue - we hope this second surgery will be his last.
On the critter front - it is Baby Time. My sister felt the fawns were less than 24 hours old on the 3rd of June when she took the top right photograph. We have lots of swallow babies, and my sister has counted four different quail families - each with around ten chicks. I am waiting to hear if the Acorn Woodpeckers show up later this summer at the peanut feeder with newly fledged babies. I think that would me most exciting.
Now on to today's adventure. Here are the clues:
Cobblestone streets with old buildings.
A major river that often floods in winter months.
Norman defenses.
An iconic cathedral.
Close up of the cathedral - also referred to by another ecclesiastical name which I will not use as it would give the game away.
Guesses, anyone?

York Minster! I'm a lurker of your blog and have been enjoying your tour. You're very lucky to have the opportunity to spend so much time in Europe!
Most definitely York, a great place to visit. I've not been for years - it looks like you paid a visit to the Shambles, it's so unique.
Seems like everyone has guessed already. lol! Love the pics -- so cool as usual! Now how come your sister stayed home? Nice that she's keeping up the home front with your critters. The cats (except Solomon, poor thing) look happy. Love the pics of the fawns! So cute!
Looks like the guys at home are doing well, except Solomon! That Cathedral is beautiful.I agree with all the others, York.(I watch the Travel channel and Rick Steves)
York! The Shambles and the Minster! Did you get to Ramshambles (yarn shop in The Shambles)? Did you get a Cornish pasty for lunch? Did you get to the Quilt Museum? I so envy the trip you're doing and am living vicariously through your blog posts. Enjoy!

Oooh the baby fawns and the quail family are too sweet and darling. I bet your pets are missing you like crazy. Poor Solomon hope he heals fast. Great photos and yes the castles are cool too:) love Annette
Hope you got to walk around the wall, it's a nice view.
Padma looks absolutely adorable! Dear Solomon. I hope time passes quickly for him.
After nearly 40 years I recognized at once, it's York!
Wonderful town and good memories.
Greetings from Germany
Tho I see the posts before me, I couldn't say where you've been. I haven't ever been and they sure didn't teach us about YOUR England in school! Those fawns looks so downy and soft... they ARE new! Glad the kitties are doing well, except for the cone... hope the surgery takes! Hugs again!
I can imagine your kitties are complaining about the lack of face time with you, lol. Looks like you're still having a wonderful trip!!
I've missed seeing the cats too. :)
I was going to say OMG IT'S DIAGON ALLEY after the first photo - because that TOTALLY EXISTS, RIGHT?? - but the other photos don't match. *sad*
It's a little humiliating, actually, how invested I am in all things Harry Potter. lol
Love the cat pics--especially the one with them all asleep on their own individual patio chair! Can't wait to see where you go next :)
