Wednesday Walk - Five Years Ago

I think we were one of the few places in the country without snow in 2021.

And the same holds true in 2026

And the earliest of flowers and bulbs blooming,

...like these hellebores.

And this daphne.

Another hellebore.

Wednesday's Walk

January 2016 flashback

On Saturday I thought the creeks were full and strong.

They certainly were running at full boar.
See the green moss-covered rock on the left?

Here it is again on Sunday afternoon after 1.25" of further rain.
It is submerged and the rocks above are barely peeking out.

This is spot on Dorothy's Creek where the deer and other creatures ford the stream by our trail camera.  I wouldn't want to attempt to cross it now.

Foam

and froth!

The Big Creek is rising too!

Several years ago my Dad and brother built a new bridge after the old one washed away. They sited it higher and a good thing too!
