I know I've posted Flicker photos like this before.

But gosh, it does show off many of the different feathers and patterns.

Also the way the bird is bent around the feeder, the tail feathers providing support, and that she seems to be holding on with just one claw! Can you see it?

Friday was the first day I had a good, prolonged look at a returning male Rufous Hummingbird.

As you can see, he looks very different from the Anna's...

all brown and glinting copper. 

The feathers on his gorget are all flared out.
