The usually leave by the end of October and do not show up again until mid-
April.

It's cold but there are signs of spring.

They're back!

At least one early 'scout' is.

A Band-tailed Pigeon.

The Steller's Jays were not happy yo see the pigeon.

They squawked and yelled as though it were a hawk.

It fact they chased it way!  Way to go Steller's!

They certainly are lovely birds on a blue sky day. 

And they are great look outs - always watching.

Quite a red throat, but not a red head.

Or is it a female? Sometimes they have a bit of throat color. 

It's just confusing, that's what it is.
