Friday was our last sunny day for a while as the rain returned late in the night. Tom-Cat was determined to enjoy every moment of it.
Come Autumn and the Golden Crowned Sparrows have returned.
Chip is getting ready for Winter.
Not the best picture of an Evening Grosbeak. All this week I've thought I've heard them out and about in the forest. I finally caught sight of this one and he then took off to join a flock of about 20. I wonder if they are gathering to migrate.
Anna's Hummingbirds are grateful for my Autumn blooming salvias.
Another sign of Autumn - see the nubs on the head of this young buck?
I found this Gopher Snake down by one of our woodpiles. He too was enjoying the warmth of the Autumn sun.

Great photo of that deer, you can almost feel the fuzz on his new nubs.
Oh Beth, I don't envy you the snake but I do love all your other wildlife visitors.
Tomcat is a beauty! I enjoy your great pics!
I almost even enjoyed the snake one, NOT!! :)
so sweetttttttttttttt
lovely pictures..

Love seeing what early autumn looks like in your area! We've had cold, windy days and frosty nights with several inches of rain today and more coming tonight. Not at all the nice fall weather we're used to.
What great pictures! Hope the rain doesn't last too long.
