Saturday's Critters

A hodgepodge this week.

Barry the Buck

Chipmunk

Two does

Barry

Bunny

Sadly, this is an orphaned fawn

Gray Squirrel

I see the fawn almost every morning. Deer do not seem to take in loners, so it must fend for itself.

The Big Guys

Design - Autumn Leaf
Designer - Ewe and Eye and Friends
Fabric - 40 count Sandstone linen
Started - 20 November 1998
Completed - 1 December 1998

I got pretty excited when I heard and found this Pileated Woodpecker.

But that paled when later in the morning I found a group of THREE birds!

I only managed to photograph two of them.
A young bird on the left and a mature bird on the right.

The young bird had a BAD case of "bed head" with the red feathers.

And the bird also had A LOT to say.

What a wonderful experience to be able to observe a Pileated Woodpecker family.

Bushtits are so much fun to watch.

If one is cute,

then two are cuter still

Dark eyes mean this is a male.

They are so small they can get inside the bell.

Five of 'em.

An aggressive Chickadee ran them off.

But back again they came.

Right side up and upside down.

A female staring at us.

Light eyes mean a female.
