Hummingbird Sunday

 

There are three or four birds spending the fall/winter here.

But with shorter daylight hours, it's more challenging to get photos.

Here's a female Anna's

It's to be in the mid-20's tonight.

I have a heater for one of the feeders so I will leave that one out.

The others I'll bring inside and put back out by 7:30am.

It's finally Friday - that's cause for celebration.

There are now several Golden-crowned Sparrows out and about.

They are one of the few birds singing this time of year.

The California Quail are up at first light...

..and are late too - roosting just as dusk turns to night.   

They are now on big, loose group of birds - no territorial disputes this time of year. 

One of all and all for one.

Here's the fox.  A Fox Sparrow.

Fox Sparrows are one of my winter migrants and I'm glad to welcome back these pretty birds. 

A few Cedar Waxwings continue to linger.

They do not migrate per say, but they do move about the Willamette Valley in search of fruit and berries.
