 They're back!

I saw the first Band-tailed Pigeons around the 9th of February, but have not been able to take a photo until now.

So far low numbers and they are extremely skittish. But soon I'll need to remove the trays on the feeders.

Cold morning with LOTS of Steller's Jays.

Some were puffed up to fight the temps.

I think this is one of my favorite Valentine designs - I like the addition of some bronze and yellow - I might have to get this framed some day.

Yay! A Red-breasted Sapsucker!

I'm so pleased I saw this bird and managed to snap off one photo.

I've not seen a Sapsucker for months and months.

I did have three Acorn Woodpeckers fly in briefly last week - again no photos.

The Steller's Jays are much better at posing.

Well it looks like 'Six Hearts' to me, not 'Three Hearts', but then I did not design and/or name the piece; I just stitched it.  I very much enjoyed working on this.  I haven't done much with beads before.  This used three different Mill Hill colors.  The bead size was such that I could continue to use the same size needle with or without beads, and that sped-up stitching.  I do like the unusual colors - blues, greens, and lavenders - not 'normal' Valentine colors. 

Featuring some of the Little Guys today.

I could hear Chestnut-backed Chickadees, but no photos.

I do have LOTS of Juncos.
