Still seeing the Ruby-crowned Kinglet

They'll head south in the next few weeks.

Another bright bird, the male House Finch sticks around all year.

A post from five years ago

Here's a recap of some ordinary, yet pretty birds.

Junco

Golden-crowned Sparrow

Female Lesser Goldfinches.

They glowed in the afternoon sunshine.

Pleased to hear, then see a White-breasted Nuthatch.

It's an atypical bird close to the house and feeders.

Typical pose!

Fun to see this guy.

Wednesday's Walk - Five Years Ago

A short walk around part of Ankeny Wildlife Refuge.

Last year's nest

The earliest of blooms - Osoberry.

Ash trees in water with the boardwalk to the right.

Licorice ferns

See the bird?

A white-breasted nuthatch

Low-flying geese

More geese

A couple of kestrels

#2

I think the prettiest of the raptors.

Do you agree?
