There are LOTS of chickadees out and about.

And there are still a dozen or so Band-tailed Pigeons.

They are one of the few birds that don't gulp water like chickens with their heads back.

They can slurp like dogs and cats.

This is a stitch my Mom completed. As many folks go to the beach in August, it's a perfect design to feature today. 

Differences between juvenile and adult birds make for hard birding in August and September.

I think it's a young Song Sparrow

But honestly a young Towhee also looks so different from an adult bird.

Keeps me on my toes!
