I refer to the Towhee as a Halloween Bird.

Why? It's those bright red eyes that do it for me.

Ajax jumped up on my lap.

And after LOTS of head-rubbing..

She curled up and spent about 30 minutes with me.

The crow (bottom left) as NOT happy with the big hawk in the tree on the upper right.

I think it is a Red-Shouldered Hawk. 

Lots of red on the breast and shoulders.

Not a hawk I often see here, so a nice surprise.
