What's up little one?

Are you looking at our winter-flowering clematis  -Clematis cirrhosa cultivars, 'Wisley Cream'?

Yes you are!

It has hundreds and hundreds of blossom right now.

In September the plant looked like it was dying (as it does every year) and now look at it!

A hummingbird's delight.

There's certainly plenty to eat.

It's kind of cool to have a plant the hummers like in full bloom in December.

Good eating little one.

Will he become a Winter Regular?

I can only hope.

This is the Ruby-crowned Kinglet I've written about in a couple of previous posts.

I've seen him most every day that I've had the time to watch a bit in the morning.

This set of photos was taken on Sunday.

He talks - a buzzing sound and flits back and forth from the pucker brush to the feeders.

Look look!

A female Acorn Woodpecker came by.

For the last several years, it is rare that I see an Acorn Woodpecker in the winter.

They are hanging out more reliably about 1/2 a mile from my house.

So delightful to see her.

I'm hoping for a few more winter visits.

Head feathers down

I love the colors in these two photos.

The pinky-red and the blue are striking.

A Bewick's Wren (pronounced Buick's)

And a Red-breasted Nuthatch

Typical Nuthatch pose

He stuck around for a while

They forage for insect waling upside down on trees.

Like this!
