I refer to the Towhee as a Halloween Bird.

Peanuts anyone?

The crows and the Steller's Jays love peanuts.

The jays can jam several peanuts in their crop.

Still have some American Goldfinches.

And lots of House Finches.

A mix of finches at the feeder.
Breakfast time!

Halloween

I dropped by Hiron's the other day to look at their fall displays.

Owls...

...owls...

...even more owls...

And all of them pretty darned cute!

Lots of wonderful Halloween displays.

Spooky stuff everywhere.

Oh and more owls in the front left!

Even black and orange trees.

I'm kinda partial to the orange and black spotted cream colored pumpkin.

HAPPY OWL-O-WEEN!!

Most of the Band-tailed Pigeons are gone, but there are still a couple around.
Look at the crop of Douglas fir cones in that tree!

A California Scrub Jay

Rarely seen - a Scrub Jay and Steller's Jay at the feeders at the same time.

A great way to compare the two birds.
