Wednesday's Walk

Blue skies - off we go!

There are lots of violets.

White ones...

...and purple ones.

Pussy willows

Licorice ferns

A fiercely running little creek...

...with daffodils cascading down its banks.

More blue sky.

And a more sluggish BIG creek.

Though it too has a bit of white water action.

Moss and ferns.

Fresh green growth.

Our third and final seasonal creek - Dorothy's Creek.

Getting closer still to a finish!

Before I left for work Sunday morning, I looked out of the garage and what did I see?

This wonderful bird!

A puffed up female Pileated Woodpecker.

(She was preening her feathers, thus all puffed up.)

Not puffed

Once again all puffed up.

No vocalizations, so I'm glad I happened to see her.

Always a thrill.

So let's devote the entire weekend to hummingbirds.
