I had a pair of Flickers courting.

Lots of head-bobbing

And lots of talking

It was nice to see a small group souring overhead.

The last Violet-green Swallow baby fledged on Saturday.

Now all is quiet in the nesting boxes.

Now it's time for California Quail babies.

My father saw a large group along the driveway far from the house.

No sign yet of any in the backyard. 

There are a two or three quail couples that hang out.

It is possible that they are still sitting on eggs.

I'm hoping for two or three different family groups this year.
