Autumn Activity

All the leaves and acorns are stitched.

Now on to a couple of pumpkins.

I took a walk from up from the Big Creek back home.

There was a nice little flock of Bushtits in the brush along side the creek.

They're often difficult to photograph as the flit about.

But I got a couple of nice shots.

Female

She even posed for me!

Another nice pose.

I could watch these guys all day!

Cooler Mornings

My new skein of Hickory Sticks arrived!

I can begin stitch on my reindeer again.

The morning began cold and foggy.

Not good Vulture weather.

But then the sun broke through.

Time to spread one's wings...

...and soak up some warming rays!

More Fall Birds

Plugging away on this...

I thought this might be something unusual, but have decided it's a female House Finch.

I getting one or two Black-headed Grosbeaks again.

Pretty sure these are birds migrating through.  This one has been eating blackberries.

A Golden-crowned Sparrow

The first Fox Sparrow of the season.

And Juncos

Gotta' love Juncos!

Fun Fall Bird

Design - "Plum Berry Sampler"
Designer - Bent Creek
Fabric - 32 count Touchstone linen
Fibers - GAST - 2 strands over 2 threads
Started - 2 February 2001
Completed - 27 February 2001

I'm most pleased to be seeing...

...groups of Cedar Waxwings close in!

This group is a mix of mature and young birds.

The two on the left are mature adults, the two on the right are youngsters.

The adults are very smart-looking.

Something about their frowny face - it looks so stern.

They were very quiet, so I was glad that I noticed them hanging out.

There's lots of elderberry, hawthorn, and blackberries to eat right now.

Nice contrast of a mature bird and a youngster.  Enjoy!

Sunday's Hummers

All Anna's All The Time

Here's one of the males - watching and guarding his plot.

A female

I counted five birds Saturday morning.

They're hoping for a late frost!
