Lots and lots of brown and color developing on the throat.
That's why I think it is a young male.

I know you are thrilled to have visits with the Rufous hummers along with the Annas, Beth. The coloring on the Rufous is so different than what I see around here.
My DH & I call it "hummer wars" 😅
