August was an awesome birding month, so I thought it might be fun to recap some of the great birds that visited.

With the Vaux and Barn Swallows (no photos) that makes for 43 species for the month. A pretty good crowd! Someone asked me how many species of birds I've seen. Truly I have no idea as I've not kept at list and most of my birding has been at home. I'd guess maybe 150 species...that's just a guess.

Amazing! So many different types of birds! I think we saw a turkey vulture during the eclipse. It was huge! It took care of the poor squirrel who had been squished on our road, so that was nice of it.
