My goodness! Here's a blast from my stitching past. According to my spreadsheet (yep, I'm an compulsive record-keeper), I stitched this almost 20 years ago. I have been attempting to start each day with a moment of two of reflection and thanksgiving.
...a small group of Lesser Goldfinches!
I think there was a total of four birds.
Two males and two females (male on left, female on right).
Two females
Female and male.
I haven't seen them since, so maybe they just dropped by in the midst of their migration.
While I see one of two in the summer, now I am seeing more and more Oregon Juncos.
They tend nest at higher elevations and then come back down to the valley floor for milder winter weather. I'm glad to have these guys back again in numbers.

Count Your Blessings is such a pretty design. We will see lots of Junco's soon too. I see them just a bit during the summer.
What a classic stitched piece! Usually, I can tell the Lesser Goldfinches from American, but... the females don't have the black on the head... so... to me they looked like American Goldfinches! Back to study more! I have seen a LOT of Dark Eyed Juncos last week, when it rained... None since... But they will be back. Hugs!
