Now that the Rufous have left for the year, I think there are four or five Anna's hanging around....
...including this pretty female. I may have two females.
Female or young male - look at the dark throat - confusing.
Here's a male...
...and this is a young male - just starting to get throat and head color.
Already fairly fierce!
The light was just right...
...for the bird to shimmer...
...and shine.
Probably the same bird in different light.
Makes for a very different look.
Here's an adult male - entire head and throat is colored.
He's perched protecting the front yard feeders from interlopers.
Now he's in the backyard...
Doing the same thing!
Ohh--I just love love hummingbirds--thanks for sharing the great photos--
ReplyDeleteit has been raining here most of the day--so we are wet wet wet!!!
enjoy the moments, di
What splendid little birds. I would love to have them in my garden - although you may feel the same way about out parrots I suppose!

Love ..love ..love them❤️❤️❤️ Enjoy😍
ReplyDeleteThey are just TOO sweet! At least you still have a few around... it is sad when the number of birds diminishes, due to the seasons (or in our case here, due to storms that blew them away a little early for my tastes!) Hugs!
ReplyDeleteSo lovely! Your photography is fantastic!
