Sunday Flowers for Mother's Day

Wishing Everyone a Most Happy Mother's Day!

About two miles to the west, there is a pretty hillside.

It is special as it is an Oak Savannah rimmed by wet meadows.

It is the perfect place for a Red-winged Blackbird to sing away.

And it is the perfect place for Arrowleaf Balsamroot (Balsamorhiza sagittata) to grow.

I waited a bit too long to stop and take a photograph or two.

Nonetheless I still think the flowers are lovely.

The Columbia Gorge is famous for its wildflowers including the spring display of Arrowleaf Balsamroot.

And I had only to walk up the road about 100 feet to come across this amazing display of Menzie's Larkspur (Delphinium menziesii).

A small sea of purple.

And such delicate flowers too.
I hope you enjoyed my Country Mother's Day Bouquet.
