The hawks have been omnipresent as of late.
I hate finding a pile of feathers near one of my bird feeders.
Hawk 1 - Songbird 0
This is a young Cooper's Hawk.
I see you and you see me!
The same bird in different light - he does have a pretty tail.
I remain partial to song birds and the like.
I am pleased to have a few Pine Siskins joining my Goldfinches.
The Siskins have small yellow colors bars on their wings.
And a much sharper and smaller bill than the Goldfinches.
Here's a winter regular for me - an Oregon Junco.
A subdued mix of black, and brown and white.
Now there are two birds!
I've seen as many as ten at one time. With that many they squabble among themselves...just like people!
So glad that one is framed. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteSuch a fierce look for that hawk!
Your finish is lovely and the frame complements it perfectly!
ReplyDeleteI like those Juncos, never heard of them before.
Such a lovely framed piece! Love this one! Yikes on the pile of feathers! So sad......
ReplyDeleteVery nice framed piece. I found a feather pile last weekend. :-( I sometimes feel like I'm just providing a buffet for the hawks by feeding the other birds.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely piece... looks wonderful in that frame! Oh I like the songbirds best too...such cheerful little things! happy stitching!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations for the finish
ReplyDeleteFrame is perfect for you beautiful work.
Thanks for the great photos
Lovely finish! I don't think I've ever seen a hawk in a garden around here, they tend to stay in the wilder places
ReplyDeleteThat is a nicely framed piece! Great colors! So sad to see that the hawk is attacking all our bird friends. We have had a raptor come through the neighborhood, but the Blue Jays set up such an alarm, haven't had any casualties (at least not in MY yard!). Hugs!
