Snowdrops, Trilliums, & Violets

Design - "Awakening" (freebie)
Designer - The Primitive Hare
Fabric - 28 count mystery fabric
Floss - WDW & DMC - 2 strands over 2 threads
Started - 7 March 2014
Completed - 8 March 2014

Isn't this a little sweet stitch? I used DMC white, 310 & WDW 'Moss'.  You can download the file here if you'd like to stitch it.

As it turns out I've now stitched four pieces with snowdrops.

I'm getting quite the collection!

While the snowdrops have come and gone here, there's still much to see and enjoy outside. Let's take a walk.

These small flowers are some of the first to bloom.
We've always called them Spring Beauties.

A leafless Oak with a blue blue blue sky backdrop.

Pussy Willows everywhere!
See all the pollen - is that why my nose is running?

A cherry perhaps?

Here's the close-up.

Last week the Trilliums were shooting up out of the ground.

Now they are a sea of white on the forest floor.

Nothing prettier than a spread of Trilliums.

I think this is a plum in bloom.

The Osoberries are in fine form now.

I like the play of light on green.
In this case Licorice ferns.

Pink, white, and violet.
All but the yellow Violets are now in bloom.

As are the first wild strawberries.

Sun on moss covered rocks as the Big Creek rushes along.

Spring is sunlight, green and wet!
It's fitting then to leave in this boggy spot where Corn Lilies, Camas, and Monkey Flowers all happily reside.

  2. All of your snowdrop finishes are so pretty, Beth. I can't say that I've ever seen one in real life...

I especially love the trillium photos because they will forever remind me of my dear grandmother... She was quite a nature lover and those were among her favorite wildflowers.

  4. Snowdrops on the brain I call it! Love the little tin too! You are way ahead of us here as far as spring and blooms. Heck, it was barely 40 today and going to be 29 tonight! Hard to blossom in freezing temps! Hugs!
