March's Ireland (1979) & July's Delphinium

Here it is - finished!

Design - "July's Delphinium"
Designer - Cottage Garden Samplings
Fabric - 32 count Lambswool linen
Fibers - GAST & WDW & DMC - 2 strands over 2 threads
Started - 12 January 2014
Completed - 10 March 2014

The delphiniums were a little 'fiddly' to stitch, but it was worth it as they turned out very life-like. This series continues to delight me month after month!

Goodness - that was some time ago - January through the end of May in 1979. One of the coldest and wettest winters on record for Ireland, thus all my dark, gloomy gray photos! We were thrilled when spring finally made its presence known in May.

  6. I like the eerie greenish haze of the fog in the image of Blarney Castle. I could daydream about the faeries and the mythical creatures there about. LOL Beautiful shots...all.
