Well, the frogs finally disappeared back into the mud and ooze. With a bit of tweaking as yep, I stitched the cardinal up higher than I was supposed to, I managed to make his feet alight on the branch as intended.
You know I suffer from a chronic case of Cardinal Envy. Take a look here at the photos Pam of My Stitchin n Stuff took of her pretty cardinals. Sigh...so envious!
With warmer temperatures I was able to refill the fountain and have it operational once again. It's on the north side of the house - you'll notice we still have remnants of our snowfall there.
The snow in the backyard is almost gone.
Thank goodness say the deer. Isn't this a plump and healthy looking one?
My little Downy Woodpecker survived the snow and cold.
I'm glad to have him back at the feeder.
The Juncos...
...and the Chickadees are back in full force too.
Oh, what an adorable finish, Beth! You may suffer from cardinal envy, but I'd give up my cardinals for all those lovely birds you have out in Oregon!!
ReplyDeleteLove the cardinal finish! I just saw one out the window the other day. Can never catch a picture of them -- they're too fast. Love seeing your fountain full of water again. Yay for warm weather!
ReplyDeleteOh great, another cardinal stitched. He looks gorgeous. I've been collecting cardinal charts, mainly freebies because I want to stitch a bird a month next year - and if possible cardinals, lol.
ReplyDeleteEnjoying your bird and deer pictures, as always.
Such a cute finish!
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of cardinal envy before!!! lol. Actually I envy you all the birds you do have as I don't see nor get that many in my yard!
A bonnie stitch Beth, I think cardinals are such lovely birds - mind you, red is my favourite colour.
ReplyDeleteBeth, I love the cardinal finish! We had lots of cardinals in KY. It is one of the very few complaints I have with this area, no cardinals!
ReplyDeleteSweet finish! Glad the frogs went away. Love seeing all of your critters!
ReplyDeleteThe deer certainly did look well fed. Very cute finish. The cardinals do bring a splash of color to an otherwise drab time of year - all the other birds are so toned down in color that the bright red of the male is almost a shock.
ReplyDeleteI love your finish and that little cardinal! Glad to see that your temps have warmed up too. I'm afraid our snow is here to stay.
ReplyDeleteA lovely stitching finish.
ReplyDeleteCute finish! Great deer picture too.
ReplyDeleteLove the cardinal Beth! You have so many other beautiful birds even though you do not have cardinals. I still have not seen a female junco - I've got Kevin watching for them as well (showed him your pics of female juncoes (sp?)). The deer looks well fed and happy despite your winter weather. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteHa ha :)
ReplyDeletecardinal envy!
Love your sweet finish!
I'm thinking that deer is carrying a baby... she has the 'bump' in the middle... It could happen! Love the finish! Think I have it in my stash... Glad the birdies are back after the cold spell! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI love love love the cardinals that come around in the winter. We don't have too many but I usually have at least one pair on the feeders throughout the winter. It really is special to see that red coat against the winter whites. (Though I love the females too.) Such a cute little finish!
