Wishing You a Good Friday

As you can see I've started "And Noah Opened the Window...".  I love all the blues used on the roof of the Ark.  I think despite numerous 1/4 stitches and alot of back-stitching, it's going to be a fun piece.

Speaking of blue...
Padma had surgery on his right ear about a week ago.  He has to wear a barber's cape (that's what I think it looks like) until the ear heals and the stitches are removed - about a week from now - poor guy.

I thought I'd celebrate Easter Weekend with a wildflower update.
Here's the Grand Hound's Tongue (Cynoglossum grande).  It's in fairly deep shade so is lankier and has fewer blossoms than other plants in full sun.

Cyclamen - naturalizing with great abandon!

A large patch of mature and immature Oregon Fawn Lilies (Erythronium oregonum) - also known as Lamb's Tongue or Trout Lily.

Here are mottled Fawn Lily leaves intermixed with leaves of Shooting Stars (Dedecatheon pulchellum).

And here's a Fawn Lily in bloom.  I love the delicate curve the stem makes.  So graceful - it reminds me of the neck of a ballerina.

  1. Sorry about Padma and hope he heals quickly. (It could be worse though, he could be stuck with one of the hard cones, aka 'the cone of shame.')

  3. Padma looks like he is tolerating the cape really well. Our little one turns into the Tasmanian Devil the minute you go near her with anything. I agree with you about the shape of the lily stem - it's so elegant.

  8. Awwww, poor kitty-witty! Those are so much better than the hard plastic cones though. I think they feel a little more normal in those and not as silly. (Because as we all know, cats are VERY SENSITIVE to being laughed at. lol) Hoping he heals up nice!!! :)
