Sharp eyes may have noticed that I added this project to my WIP's on the sidebar a couple of days ago. I bought this kit on eBay back in 2008 and stitched right along when it became apparent that there was not enough Shepherd's Silk to complete the bunny. So from May 2009 this project languished, even after I was able to purchase a 2nd kit. I pulled it out a couple of weeks ago - so little stitching to finish it up - just the hind legs of the bunny - about 15 rows - and blanket stitch the leaves. So there you are - I watched a You Tube video to learn how to blanket stitch. And just in time for Easter, "Wooly Hare" is done. (No comments on the 2009 date in upper left please. As project was 98% done then, I am not changing the completion date!)
Wednesday morning a couple of Scrub Jays waited as I tossed out stale bread. This is about as close together as they ever get.
Jays being rather feisty birds!
Sparrows though can hang out together.
My covey of Quail were out and about...
Everyone is fat and happy.
The Easter Bunny?
It's a little early, but he could be scoping out the joint!
Sweet little stitch completed Beth. :) Easter blessings to you!
ReplyDeleteSo cute the Easter Bunny! Easter, as a name suits him, but my favourite name for bunnies has to be Thumper!! The Bambi character deserves all the attention that he gets!

Happy Easter!
Love Wooly Hare. Normally I don't love rabbits because they send the dog into a frenzy, but she doesn't understand representation yet...
ReplyDeleteOh....that's a pattern I haven't seen before! That's really cute!! How will you finish it off? Have a wonderful Easter.

Glad you persevered with this one, Beth--it's very cute!!
ReplyDeleteVery apt for Easter and very neat too. It's great being able to go online to get help with stitches etc.
ReplyDeleteCute finish!
ReplyDeleteEverytime I read your posts I can't help but find myself humming the rain song from Bambi. LOL Especially when I see the quail. Jays, they are one of my favorites and OMG you got that right about them being feisty. XD
ReplyDeleteSeeing the birds reminded me to tell you that we have a dove family under our upstairs porch! With two babies, tho I only just saw them last weekend and they are not so tiny!! Had no idea! And FINALLY, today my husband says there were birds around and near the thistle sock we have hung above our planter boxes. I will be watching for birds tomorrow! Hugs!
