Up High Down Low

I pawed through my charts and came up with collection of October Possibilities.  Lots of owls and a black cat.  A pumpkin might still find its way in my stitching rotation for this month.

Last week a Great Blue Heron flew overhead, its long legs trailing.

I'm still seeing Pine Siskins.  My highest count remains three birds.

The Siskins are intermingled and out numbered by American Goldfinches.

Soon they'll have stripped out all the sunflower seeds.

59 California Quail the other morning.

There's some bickering, but for the most part everyone seems to get along.

I am fortunate to have so many of these birds.

Look out!  There's a Red-tailed Hawk!

  1. Dang Hawks! I know they have to survive too, but... there is a lot of wild open country out there... go to it! Cute shots of the Goldfinches. Hugs!

  4. What a huge covey of quail! Amazing that you could count that many :) The Siskins are a new-to-me bird--very delicate and pretty.
