There were so many good trail camera photos for the month of September, so let's get started.
As our dry weather continued, the 5 gallon galvanized bucket of water continued to be a popular ad hoc watering hole.
As is the case month in and month out, we have more photos of deer than anything else.
I do enjoy spying on the young fawns.
And as I mentioned, the water attracts visits.
And we're off to the races! Mama...

We've not seen a buck in several months, so it was nice to see that one is still in the area.
Our resident opossum is a nocturnal visitor.
The Bob-cat comes by night and day.
Lunch time!
I am intrigued by what the cat is carrying. At first I thought it was a rabbit, but the legs are all wrong. There are stripes on the back and it has a narrow rat tail, so I do not think it is a chipmunk.
On September 3rd at 7:26pm this large cat casually strolled by.
Cougar! What an amazing creature!
With all that activity, it was just icing on the cake to find that bears came by too.
Bears? More than one?
Yes! More than one!
Mama Bear and a couple of cubs.
And while it is hard to know for sure, I'm convinced this is a larger solitary bear.
We certainly had a flurry of bear activity early in the month.
Everyone gets thirsty!
Always amazing to enjoy these pictures with you. So cool!

ReplyDeleteIsn't it amazing to realize all those wonderful creatures share the space with us, we just don't see them! Our neighbors had all their bird seed containers brought down, most likely bear. I always enjoy these pictures!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! The most wild critters we get are dragonflies and caterpillars! What a treat!
ReplyDeleteWow! What an amazing set of animals! I am thinking of getting a camera like this is a few months - but I won't get pictures of animals like this!!

ReplyDeleteWhat amazing shots you've gotten, Beth! I'm afraid I would be terrified, though, to know a bear and cougar were lurking in my woods :)

WOW.... amazing visitors..I thought the cat was carrying a rabbit too... Thank you for putting out the water. I am sure it is a life saver. I have a ground bird bath out all year round and I know the deer and rabbits use it during the winter as it is heated...Michelle
