Bye Bye Chippies

I took this series of photos last weekend.
I think with nights of 30F and 27F we've probably seen the last of the chipmunks for the winter, so enjoy this last photographic essay of their antics.

With my last couple of counts I came up with a total of seven chipmunks.  It's hard to photograph more than a couple at a time - here's three of a kind!

Two on alert.

Two munching away.

Chipmunk lips and tongue.

Chubby cheeks.

A power breakfast.

I'll miss seeing you guys (and so will Tom-Cat!)

  4. Aren't they cute? They do look rather "round" like they're getting ready for a long rest...someone else asked if they hibernate. I don't know that answer, either! But they are fun to see in your beautiful photographs!

  5. Wow, so many chipmunks and such wonderful pictures (as always).

Those little critters were digging on our front deck so we set a trap, caught them and transported them to the town park….many miles away. :-)

  6. They certainly are cute. The ones in my yard sure cause alot of damage though.
