I started working on "April's Daisy" in late April before I left on my trip to the U.K. I packed it up and took it with me, but honestly never worked on it while I was away. I finally picked it up again and finished it off with three additional stitching sessions.
Design - "April's Daisy"
Designer - Cottage Garden Samplings
Fabric - 32 count Waterlily linen
Fibers - GAST, WDW & DMC - 2 strands over 2 threads
Started - 24 April 2013
Completed - 20 October 2013
I have the charts and fabric for May, June, July, August, and September.
The question is - which one will I stitch up next?
I continue to be amazed at the chutzpah of this little Downy Woodpecker. He is so much smaller than the other 'peanut feeders' but he does not allow the jays or other large birds to scare him off.
He's proof that lovely things do come in small packages.
And here's a rare sighting:
The male and female Acorn Woodpeckers side-by-side as they awaited their turn at my peanut feeders.
I'll send the post with another nice autumnal shot.
A Golden-crown Sparrow in the blackberry bushes.
Congrats on the lovely finish - great colours. And that tiny woodpecker is just adorable!
ReplyDeleteWhat I wanted to say is exactly what Giovanna said!!! truly!
ReplyDeleteA lovely finish. Yesterdays post was just mouth-watering.
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet and cheery finish, Beth--I love it! Looking forward to which one you decide to stitch next :)
ReplyDeleteAww...what a cutie that tiny woodpecker is--glad he can hold his own. That is quite a feat against those nasty bluejays!
Love your blog and I'll be following your posts with much pleasure.
ReplyDeletehave a great week.Hugs

Love your finish! Gorgeous colors! Love seeing your birds too, of course.
ReplyDeleteI agree, that is a beautiful autumn shot. I love the series you are doing!
ReplyDeleteooh, April is so very pretty! Congrats! Yes, that little downy guy is just too cute! And the Acorn woodpeckers side by side are quite a sight to see--love how they look like they are wearing a mask! Great shot of the Gold-crowned sparrow! He almost blends in the background...
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your finish! It looks great. Love the woodpeckers.
ReplyDeleteCan you believe we're supposed to have up to 3 inches snow tomorrow? It's way too early for such cold, snowy weather.
I think you should stitch September...is that the one with the poppies?
ReplyDeleteLovely pics.
Uroczy wiosenny hafcik!
ReplyDeleteVery cute finish. I"m an in-order kind of person, so I'd choose May for the next one - also something bright and cheery as the days get shorter. Funny how the smaller the bird the more brass they have. Chickadees and hummingbirds are so tiny but they don't take any guff from the larger birds and tend to chase them off.
ReplyDeleteSuper adorbs! Love the way the white/yellows pop out.
