Wednesday morning the low temperature was a frosty 20F and Thursday morning we had a low of 24F.
The Ali-Baba fountain was coated with ice, but still burbling along.
In fact everything was rimed with frost.
It made for a pretty morning...
Almost as pretty as a snowfall.
Last year's weeds had a structural clarity when outlined with frost.
As did the blackberry canes...
...and Hazel brush...
...and willows.
As the sun rose slowly in the sky, the frost-covered grass began to sparkle.
A lovely, if brisk start to a new day.
I love when we get an air frost that coats the trees and shrubs, it looks wonderful. The fountain looks really strange with the ice formed on it.
ReplyDeleteGreat, great pictures. I especially love that you caught the sparkle!!
ReplyDeleteSometimes a heavy frost creates such a beautiful wonderland. As much as I dislike winter, I find looking at frost covered trees simply wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI miss heavy frost! We haven't had one yet this year, the temps have barely gone below 50. I shouldn't complain, but I do miss the magical new feeling that frost and snow brings.
ReplyDeleteYour photos captured the feeling of the frigid frost perfectly, Beth!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures here! Only frost I see is on my car windows--inside and outside! Apparently have a leak on the right front and it frosts INSIDE! Joy! Hugs!
